OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS AND COLLECTIVE MEMBERS OF THE PROJECT SPACE AND GALLERY

STUDIO BAUSTELLE

Studio Baustelle has been operating as a project space hosting exhibitions and performances since 2011 and as a shared studio space since 2016. We enjoy acting as a portal for the art community and opening our doors for events on a regular basis, (which means clearing out our front room from time to time), but also gives us the opportunity to present works by ourselves and colleagues and share anything we find interesting and engaging.

We are an artist-run gallery and studio space and use our space to collaborate with artists from all over the world and from all backgrounds, our colleagues of Studio Baustelle, and collaborate with other project spaces.

We are open to different perspectives and welcome people from various “walks of life”.

Studio Baustelle is a collective space for artistic practice, experimentation, exhibitions, workshops, and events, and is not a commercial gallery. The artists work only part-time at the studio and would especially welcome other part-timers!

We love creativity, creating together, and inspiring each other and we believe playfulness births creativity and new ideas.

Studio Baustelle is a place where we tolerate each other, and listen to the needs and visions of each other.

We see ourselves as an art collective, where there exists an identification with the group and we like the opportunities of creating together and inspiring each other but Studio Baustelle is also a social meeting point and a space where you can work on your individual projects.

We see Studio Baustelle as a space where you can express yourself artistically and inspire and be inspired by other artists.

We take responsibility for the space together*, and treat people with respect in the way we ourselves want to be treated.  Our communication is open, friendly, respectful, and thoughtful. (*meaning - cleaning and keeping up with normal maintenance, paying the rent on time, and sharing the responsibility when putting on joint events and exhibitions, both in the planning, during and after work.)

We commit to a physical meeting at Studio Baustelle at least once a month, and if we are doing a bigger project together we might need to meet more often.

We use a chat group for urgent communication and email for propositions and meeting agendas/notes.
